Daniel Mourre shows the excesses of human societies and the need for rapid change in order to avoid the inevitable outbreak of extreme situations, and to confront the programmed finitude of Man caused by a ravaged nature. To represent the impact of man on his environment, Daniel Mourre created the propagation and impregnation series, like César and his compression and expansion series. To support his approach, unlike the artist Christo who packaged the works to show them, Daniel Mourre unpacks a manhole placed on a canvas stamped with his rusty imprint to show its absence.

For this, the artist positions himself as an archaeologist from a very distant future who would discover traces and fossils from the Anthropocene era. The manhole, which symbolizes industrial human civilization for the artist, is thus declined through different techniques. Due to its antinomy, the object allows us to highlight the extremes observed in our Society. The consequence is the appearance of rust which results from the destruction of metal, the basis of our contemporary Society.

We can see his works as the fossilized imprints of an industrial era that lost meaning and was destroyed. The pieces that it shows join, in their total contemporaneity, a sort of reminder of primitive art, a new first post-collapse art. The public is challenged by the aesthetics of the works which live up to the darkness of the observation; when the visitor focuses on the technique used, then the absolute coherence of the whole is imposed on them.
