The exhibition Entre Surface offers a sensory and conceptual exploration of materiality in contemporary creation. It invites viewers to look beyond immediate appearance to reveal the layers, textures, and narratives contained within materials. By privileging mixed media, recycling, textiles, and collage, Entre Surface questions the boundary between surface and depth, the visible and the tangible, appearance and presence.

In a context dominated by the digital and the immaterial, the exhibition reaffirms the value of contact, relief, and trace: materiality as an experience in its own right. The invited artists work with materials that engage the senses — substances to be touched without being handled, fragments carrying stories, recycled or rediscovered elements — establishing a dialogue between gestures, textures, and memory.

Open to all practices, Entre Surface brings together painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, collage, and installation. Each artwork becomes a meeting point between matter and gaze, between individual expression and sensory resonance.

PCE – Paris Collage Ensemble

Founded in 2023, our group brings together eight collage artists with highly diverse practices. Our common ground: papers of all kinds — torn, meticulously cut, or even sculpted. For three years, we have collaborated on inspiring projects and organized exhibitions. Entre Surface is our second collaboration with the New York Collage Ensemble, of which one of our members is part, and with Hybrid’s Crib.

NYCE – New York Collage Ensemble

The New York Collage Ensemble (NYCE), founded in 2020, aims to bring together a community of collage artists who can exchange, collaborate, and inspire one another. To achieve this, NYCE brings together artists with varied careers and styles, working across diverse techniques — from fabric to digital processes to analog creation.
