Déchirements

“Déchirements” is a work that plays with the viewer’s perception. The lines of cracks create an optical illusion that appears to melt and blend, giving the whole thing a shifting and unstable appearance. These visual distortions accentuate the feeling of disorder and destructuring, encouraging the viewer to question notions of stability and integrity. The lines of cracks, similar to fractures, give the impression that the surface is gradually dissolving and disintegrating. Between these cracks, parts of the human face emerge, creating a visual tension between distortion and recognition. This fragmented presence of the human entity invites reflection on the ephemeral and changing nature of identity. This contemporary painting explores the tensions between unity and fragmentation, between surface and depth. The soft color palette, ranging from white to light gray, creates an atmosphere of calm and contemplation.
